Curriculum vitae
Dr. Markus Burkard studied pharmacy at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and received his licence to practise pharmacy in 2008. After his practical year, he did his doctorate at the Pharmaceutical Institute of the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen in the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Clinical Pharmacy and the University Eye Hospital in Tübingen. From 2014, Dr. Markus Burkard worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Internal Medicine I at the University Hospital of Tübingen and in 2016 became a lecturer and safety officer in the Department of Vegetative and Clinical Physiology at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. In this department, he was, among other things, laboratory manager and IT administrator as well as representative for the Tübingen Research Experience Program. In addition to his lecturing duties, he was appointed examiner for the First Medical Examination (M1) and the Preliminary Dental Examination. Since 2020, Dr. Burkard has been head of the laboratories in Prof. Dr. Dr. Venturelli's Department of Biochemistry of Nutrition at the Institute of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Hohenheim. The main focus of his research is on oncoimmunological issues, including the context of epigenetically active food ingredients, including the establishment of innovative organoid models.
